Um, It Takes a Full Hour to Iron Just One of the Royal Family's Bed Sheets
Just when you thought life as a member of the royal family couldn't be more luxurious, they're out here putting the extra in extravagant. Thanks to the new ITV documentary Queen of the World, we now know that it takes staff at the family's Canadian residence Rideau Hall up to a full hour to iron just ONE of Her Majesty's bed sheets during preparation for her royal stay.
Master of the Household Christine Macintyre confirmed this somewhat WTF fact, explaining that there are special sets of bed linen reserved for just the royals, and that "It takes over an hour to iron one sheet."
Sounds crazy, but there's a good reason! Maybe! "After a long day of traveling, there is nothing better than going into a bed that doesn't feel like a hotel bed," she says. "And that is what you are trying to do-is to make it feel like they are in their own bedroom."
Yes, truly there is no fate worse than feeling like you are sleeping in the bed of a fancy hotel. 😐
