Um, Why Is 'NCIS: New Orleans' Airing Instead of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' This Sunday?
NCIS: Los Angeles is not airing until January 5.
Instead, other shows like NCIS: NOLA will run in its usual slot.
Our Sunday rituals consist of a few traditions we hold dear: Sleeping in; cooking a delicious brunch or quick and easy dinner; and, our personal favorite, tuning in to NCIS: Los Angeles.
So you can imagine our disappointment when we checked our TV schedules only to find that NCIS: LA…isn’t on?! Not even in re-runs?!
We needed a minute to recover after that intense “Mother” episode, but we didn’t expect CBS to switch it up on us completely. But it’s true: On Sunday December 22 fans will get an airing of NCIS: New Orleans instead of an hour of Deeks, Kensi, Hetty, and the rest of the gang.
NCIS: NOLA is better than no NCIS at all, but it still totally throws our week off track. It does make sense that they’re testing out the Louisiana-based spinoff on that day, though, considering it’ll run there full-time in 2020.
We wish we could say everything would be back to normal the following week, but it won't. On December 29, Carol's Second Act will be on at NCIS: LA's normal time.
The good news is that we already have a first look at what to expect when NCIS: LA returns on January 5. Apparently, a CIA officer looks to the California unit of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service for help after an agricultural engineer associated with Hetty disappears.
Hetty (Linda Hunt) has been under a microscope lately, and some are even formulating theories about who will replace her if she leaves the show. But after that dramatic Lasalle exit on NCIS: NOLA, we’re not sure we can handle another loss right now.
In the meantime, we suggest streaming any and all of the NCIS shows on Amazon and preparing yourself for what may come next year.
