The Universe Vanishes In New Justice League Trailer
Batman Crisis Infinite Earths
Warner Bros Animation is releasing Justice League: Crisis across three movies in 2024.
The trailer for the first movie, Justice League Crisis: Part One, is below, and features the Justice League - Superman, Batman, Green Arrow, Supergirl and pals - facing the end of multiple universes.
The story is based on Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, a comic book limited series that pulled together multiple DC heroes and books when it was released in the mid 1980s.
Effectively a reset for confusing and muddled heroes and storylines, it was highly-praised for turning the DC Universe into something more coherent and friendly for new readers. For the time, it was also seen as a brave move because it killed off so many well-known characters.
That would suggest WB hopes to unify and reboot its DC animated output, which has grown significantly over the last decade - although it hasn’t specifically stated as much.

DC is having a real resurgence of late, following the decision to start afresh with its movie output and put director James Gunn in charge. He’s creating significant momentum on multiple projects under the Gods and Monsters umbrella. That includes animated series Creature Commandos, the increasingly high-profile Superman: Legacy and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Actors are in place, scripts are being written, and an overarching storyline seems to be falling into place.
In the comics world, DC is heading into 2024 with a strong line up. Not only does it have its traditional books, but it's trying to attract new audiences with a range of titles aimed at readers used to manga-sized books at a cheaper price, the horny teen market with these thirsty variant covers, and it's bringing back its fan-favourite Elsewhere stories.
