Unknowing mother pulls up to car accident to learn her son was the victim in crash
A mother in South Fulton, Ga., is mourning the loss of her 27-year-old son, after pulling up to a fatal car accident to discover that he was the victim.
Robin Le-Hanefi told local Atlanta news station WSB-TV about the tragedy that took place on Nov. 16, when she encountered her son driving on Old National Highway, before seeing a cloud of smoke up ahead. Just moments before, Andre Johnson was going along with the flow of traffic. But when she went up to investigate where the smoke was coming from, it was Johnson’s mangled Jeep at the center of it.
“I just seen a cloud of smoke,” Le-Hanefi told the outlet, before explaining that her son’s body was ejected from the car. She immediately got out of her own car to grab her son’s hand. “I had his hand, I said, ‘Andre hold on, please hold on.'”
The distraught mother then ran into the street to flag down help. And although some people pulled over and an ambulance was called, they didn’t make it to the hospital in time to save Johnson’s life.
“He was a good son,” Le-Hanefi said. “My son was a lovable person.”
According to the police report, Johnson somehow lost control of his vehicle, leading him to hit a pole. However, his mother thinks that another car must have been involved in the accident and has since asked the South Fulton police to further investigate what took place.
“God put all his angels around him to let him know to get down to the bottom of this,” she said.
The South Fulton Police Department has not yet responded to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.
