'This Is Us' Cast Reunites While Picketing for SAG-AFTRA Strike
The cast of This Is Us reunited for a very important reason.
Mandy Moore shared photos on Instagram of herself with Chrissy Metz and Jon Huertas braving the summer heat in Los Angeles while picketing for the SAG-AFTRA strike.
The 39-year-old donned a name tag with "Mandy" handwritten on it and protected herself from the sun with a floppy hat paired with a white tee, cream pants and sneakers, while Metz pulled her hair back in a ponytail, opting for cat-eyed shades and a camo green t-shirt. Huertas posed in a light wine-colored short-sleeved shirt, keeping hydrated with a water bottle in tow.
The former castmates were accompanied by Castle couple Juliana and Seamus Dever, as well as Devil in Ohio's Gerardo Celasco.
Moore captioned her collection of pictures, "Day 1. Proud to stand with my fellow @sagaftra and @wgawest members demanding a fair contract. #sagaftrastrike #wgastrong #unionstrong."
Huertas commented under the photo, "???????????? that’s the team right there!!!"
Never Have I Ever's Adam Shapiro commended Moore for picketing, writing, "Hell yeah Mandy!" TikTok star Michael Brown (aka @dontcrossagayman), commented, "Love this. Definitely with you there in spirit ????."
Fans were happy to see the TV family together again while fighting for the rights of other actors.
"Stay hydrated and stay strong! It’s a worthwhile and necessary fight," read a supportive comment. A fan who's also an actor wrote, "Thank you @mandymooremm We need more names willing to take a stand for their fellow working actors."
On Thursday, July 13, SAG-AFTRA president and The Nanny star Fran Drescher announced the union's decision to strike after the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) failed to decide on a fair contract that would offer better pay and working conditions to actors by its deadline. It marks the first actors' strike since 1980.
