Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea Got a Marriage License Ahead of His Super Bowl Halftime Show
What happens in Vegas doesn't necessarily stay in Vegas.
What happens in Vegas doesn't necessarily stay there, especially if what happens involves public records. According to People, Usher (full name Usher Raymond IV) and his girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, obtained a marriage license in Las Vegas on Thursday, Feb. 8. Court records show that the marriage license hasn't actually been filed yet, so the two aren't legally married — for now. The singer is set to take the stage at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show, so he could have more than just one major life milestone checked off his list in the coming days.
Dating rumors started to swirl around the R&B singer and Goicoechea when the two were seen together at music producer Keith Thomas' 40th birthday party in June 2019. Usher and Goicoechea would go on to welcome their first child together in 2020, a daughter named Sovereign Bo. A year later, the couple welcomed a son, Sire Castrello.

Usher has two sons, Usher V, and Naviyd Ely, from a previous relationship. He was married to his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, from 2007-2009.
Leading up to his performance today, Usher described his relationship with Goicoechea, saying that she is supportive and amazing.
"I have an amazing partner, a support system," he said. "We have an amazing dynamic between our relationship where I'm able to be passionate still about what I do and have an incredible partner to work through some of the harder times as a young man dealing with children."
"I'm very happy, very fortunate to have an incredible friend, not just a partner," he told People. "She's my best friend and I love her."
