Utah State Fair kicks off 11 day festivities with rides, food, and more
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The 2024 Utah State Fair is officially underway, packed to the brim with activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Starting on Thursday, Sept. 5, and closing on Sunday, Sept. 15, the Utah Fairgrounds will be home to sheep and cows, funnel cakes and corndogs, carnival rides and entertainment, and so much more for Utahns to enjoy.
Over the next 11 days, Utahns will have a plethora of events to choose with a little something for everyone. For starters, fair-goers can attend a milking demonstration, watch the Flying Royals perform a trapeze spectacle, or lend their tastebuds to help determine who has the best food in the park.
The Utah State Fair will also showcase Utah’s brightest creative minds through photography, handmade quilts and blankets, and of course, the must-see Butter Cow sculpted out of over 600 pounds of butter.

While several of these events are free to the public with admission to the fair, some events come at an extra cost or include fair tickets for their admission. The annual demolition derby and a monster truck rally will help close out the festivities and come with a state fair ticket with a purchase of a ticket to either event.
The state fair will also include concert performances from The All-American Rejects, John Fogerty, and Dustin Lynch. The concerts require tickets to the show but include gate admission to the Utah State Fair.
