First comes love, then comes Fashion Week. This February 14—which happens to fall on the last day of New York Fashion Week—we’re taking the opportunity to add some romance to our lives.
And this year, Bazaar editors are offering their expert insight into how they plan on dressing up for the holiday. Whether that means a romantic date night or a fabulous Galentine’s, the following 11 outfit ideas will provide the ultimate inspiration for looking as stylish as the collections we’ll see on the runway this season. Black Peplum Midi Dress
50 Denier Total Comfort Soft-Touch Tights
Walker Slingback Heel
I’m just a girl, standing in front of a holiday, asking it to give me a reason to dress up for a theme. Thank god Valentine’s Day exists! Of course, I’ll be incorporating red into my date-night look (this Kendall Jenner outfit has been a particularly inspiring force on my mood board for the past year) via these colored Calzedonia tights and matching Reformation slingbacks. I also adore this Shushu/Tong minidress—it’s romantic and girly and even topped off with a pretty little bow.

V-Neck Wool-Blend Jumper
Arch Jeans, Tapered
Quilted Barn Jacket
Cycas Ankle Boot 50
Micro Shield Sling Bag
I love the idea of white winter pants, and what better day to wear them with the perfect red sweater from Tory Burch? The texture of Toteme’s quilted barn jacket with suede pointed boots and a small chain bag gives the look a more dressed-up feel. The balance of proportions—an oversize sweater and coat with a small bag and tapered jeans—is a flattering silhouette on so many!

Argyle Cape V-Neck Sweater
Wide-Leg Cargo Pants
Gray Cowboy Boots
Links Leather Shoulder Bag
As a small token of my deep affection for New York’s independent fashion designers, I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day dressed in a few favorites: a chunky knit from Maria McManus, Collina Strada’s velvet cargos, Eckhaus Latta cowboy boots, and a Links bag from SC103.
Rosa Sanchez, senior news editor
Christy Diamanté Silk Camisole
Courtney Mid-Rise Charmeuse Pant
Sabbia Oversize Italian Twill Trench Coat
Tinsel Ankle-Wrap Pump
Fancy Bezel Flexible Open Cuff With Bezel-Set Emerald and Heart
While I love a red accent these days, I find something so romantic about a deep navy look—especially if it’s silky. It’s for that reason I recently added Saint Art New York’s perfect slouchy pants to my wardrobe; and they look just as cool with sneakers as they do with some silver date-night heels. On the 14th, I’ll be pairing these pants with a matching navy cami that is subtly hot and so easy to wear—ideal for a busy NYFW schedule—as well as with a cozy, snowflake-white winter coat from Banana Republic. For an extra ounce of love, I’ll be adding my new heart-diamond bracelet from one of my favorite jewelry designers, Stephanie Gottlieb.
Miguel Enamorado, accessories director
Italian Double-Breasted Sutton Suit in Charcoal Pinstripe
x Jacquemus Zizi Oxford Shoes
Soft Bucket Medium Bag
Triomphe Sailor Cap
Panthère de Cartier
I’m in my throwback French crooner era, with Serge Gainsbourg on the mind. I love a monochromatic color palette that is both easy to wear and exudes elegance. Nothing says that like a fitted DB chalk-stripe suit worn the Serge way with these new Repetto x Jacquemus white jazz shoes. I’ll then accessorize to the nines with a hat, a nonchalant twilly scarf, a mariner hat, a fit-everything tote for running around, and the coolest pair of sunglasses, for that full-frontal Fashion Week look.

Jersey Drapey Dress
Layla Black Lace Mesh Mule
Milano Bag in Red
Sandra Earrings
This is my first Valentine’s Day as a full-fledged wife, so I’m excited to dress up and feel special for the occasion. This black Tory Burch jersey dress is just the right amount of sultry, with its transparent top and high-low hem, and I’d pair it with (walkable!) lace kitten heels from Loeffler Randall. To be more on theme, however, I’d add everyone’s favorite trend right now—bows—with this punchy red purse from Sandy Liang, and of course include a sentimental touch by sporting my Simone Bodmer-Turner for Agmes earrings, which I wore on my wedding day.
Jenna Rosenstein, beauty director
Willa Lip-Print Piped Silk Shirt
Rib-Cage Frankle Faux Leather Pants
Stunna Lip Paint
As a rule of thumb, I try to buy any item of clothing that has lips, lipstick, or other makeup iconography on it—it feels fun to wear as a beauty editor. I love this blouse from Alice + Olivia for that reason, and pairing it with faux leather pants adds a bit of edge. I’ll obviously be wearing a red lip as well, and Fenty’s Longwear lip color is ideal, because it absolutely does not budge. It’s not only kiss-proof, it’s life-proof.

Ole Striped Cotton Polo Sweater
Straight Selvedge Jeans
Nelson Jacket
Wally Leather Ankle Boots
Sylvie Suede Shoulder Bag
I always gravitate toward styles that are comfortable and oversize, and what I wear to Fashion Week is no different. Baggy jeans are my go-to, and I love a pair with a unique detail like a dramatic cuff for added flair. I’ll be topping them off with a chunky red-striped polo sweater (and matching red lip) and a contrasting green jacket. I like my accessories to be functional and practical—kitten-heel booties and a soft suede bag that can hold all of my essentials will round out the look.

Steffi Boat-Neck Organic Cotton Top
The Pointelle Simple Crop Pant
Regalo Socks
Flower Power 2.0 Scrunchie
Personalized Bottle Apron, Battenburg Lace
This Valentine’s Day, I will be at home making Bolognese with a glass of wine in my hand. Which is to say, I will be very comfortable—but still festive! I absolutely love a monochrome look, no matter the season, so for this Hallmark holiday I am opting for these Donni cropped pants (I swear nothing feels better) and this Flore Flore boat-neck tee. Flore Flore is my new favorite T-shirt company—I love every color and cut! I will also reach for some Sandy Liang accessories to complete my look, and a fun embroidered apron from Gohar World to complete my bottle of wine’s look.

Lambswool Cable Crew
Wide-Leg Pleated Pants
Women’s Disruptor 2 Woven Platform Wedge Athletic Shoe
Small Puff Shopper
Wunder Puff Cropped Jacket
When it comes to traditional Valentine’s Day tones, I think you’ve either gotta go all out or sneak in playful pops of color. For this Fashion Week, I’m going to embrace my inner country club member and go for an all-white ensemble, while making sure to add touches of pink that would make Greta Gerwig proud. Since it’s awfully chilly in New York City, I’ll pull out my cream cable knit sweater (which looks just like the one Chris Evans wears in Knives Out) and pair it with a matching pair of wide-leg slacks. Too keep the silhouette consistent, I’ll wear my über-chunky Fila Disruptors (chunky shoes will never go out of style for me) in the same hue. Finally, to give the outfit that St. Valentine touch, I’ll add a bubblegum-pink bag, like Telfar’s small Puff shopper, and maybe a dramatic neon-pink puffer coat to really sell it. How could someone not fall in love with me when I’m wearing this look?

Soraya Mini
Spikelet Medium Earrings
Lavan Black Leather Knee-High Boots
Triangle Leather Shoulder Bag
Though we don’t consider Valentine’s Day a priority holiday at my house, the 14th is still a great excuse for a date night. To take things up a notch this year, I plan on pairing this pink and white Hanifa dress with my go-to Prada purse and kitten-heel boots, for style with a side of comfort.
