Love and Kindness Community Resource Center hosts 4th annual Pack the Purse Mother’s Day Banquet, gifts items to those in need
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – A group of women who are finding their way back from some difficult times in their lives, were the guests of honor at a banquet on Saturday, May 11, designed to encourage them.
The Fourth Annual Pack The Purse Mother’s Day Banquet was held for the women of Valley Rescue Mission’s Damascus Way shelter in Columbus. It was organized by the Love and Kindness Community Resource Center. New and gently used purses were collected and then stuffed with items the women would need. Each woman chose her own purse.
Renae Dickerson is the founder of the Love and Kindness Community Resource Center.
“What we want these women to know eerie year, just remind them that God loves them, His message to them is that He loves them and He has not forgotten about them. We’re here to encourage them and we’re here to put into them love and kindness that the Lord has poured into us all,” said Renae Dickerson, Founder, Love and Kindness Community Resource Center
In addition to the purses stuffed with hygiene products and other items, the women each received a brand-new pair of pajamas.
WRBL’s Teresa Whitaker served as the keynote speaker for the event.
