Veja and études Collaborate on New Fitz Roy Hiking Shoe Inspired by the Southeast of France
Veja has teamed up with études to create a new iteration of the Fitz Roy shoe.
The co-designed sneaker is especially unique because its colorway is inspired by the Vercors Massif range in the Southeast of France. The mountains and plateaus of Paris’ landscape are executed through palettes of grays appearing on the upper section of the shoe. Additionally, the latest hiking sneaker offers a geometric mountain-like detail that compliments the signature blue design and initial letters nodding both brands.

The latest Fitz Roy is built with 100 percent recycled, resistant and water-resistant polyester, which is incorporated into the shoe, specifically in the Trek-Shell upper — Veja’s new technical material.
The Fitz Roy was designed to thoroughly protect feet against even the sharpest stones as the sole contains multidirectional crampons and a Rock-Plate. The sneaker is also eco-friendly as it is comprised of 43 percent bio-based and recycled material, including recycled polyesters, sugar cane, Amazonian rubber and natural latex.
During an interview with FN in November 2023, Veja co-founder Sébastien Kopp spoke about the brand’s non-consumptive reputation. “The psychology [behind sustainability] is not complicated,” Kopp told FN at the time. “It’s lot of common sense and courage, but what we do is not complicated. You just have to take risks and create some tension.”
Prior to teaming up with études, Veja collaborated with Reformation, Rick Owens and Mansur Gavriel.
Veja and Etudes’ first exclusive co-designed Fitz Roy shoe is now available to purchase at Kith and Mr. Porter.
