Jul. 22—I.O.O.F. Trade Days, the indoor and outdoor vendor market event, takes place every third Saturday at the I.O.O.F. Event Center, located at 601 N. 45th St. The monthly event is a place where local artisans, small businesses, and organizations come together to showcase their wares.

Approximately 30 to 40 vendors were in attendance Saturday at this month's flea market styled event, which offers everything from hand-crafted jewelry, wood carvings, food items like salsa, honey, and freeze dried candies, hand knitted blankets, and cosmetics.

"We've only been doing it (the event) about three years," I.O.O.F. Event Center Director Kyle Lichty said. "There's something for everybody."

Lichty has been in charge of the Trade Days event since March, becoming Director in April, and looks forward to expanding the vendor options as time and interest grows. Next year, he plans to have four indoor events in April, June, August and October, with an additional two-day holiday market in November.

"I consider the holiday market almost a seperate entity because I get everybody wanting to sell holiday crafts," he said. "Most of the vendors that are here today do come back to sell some of the Christmas and holiday stuff."

Those interested in becoming a vendor can contact Lichty at the event center by calling 903-641-6607, where he will send a sign up application link.
