  • Venus Williams, 41, shared the exfoliating mask that makes her skin “brighter”: Living Libations' Green Papaya + Lime Mask.

  • “I quite like [it]—I really feel like it works,” she told said in a recent interview.

  • The tennis star is serious about diligently caring for her skin.

Venus Williams takes her skincare routine very seriously—which means the products she stands by are always tried and true.

“I’m definitely picky about my beauty routines,” she recently told Self. “I like to be able to have them because they make a big difference in how I look and feel. I love having really clear, smooth skin, because I don’t wear as much makeup maybe as the next person. So that is my makeup—having really nice skin—because then you don’t really need as much.”

The star has an admittedly youthful glow at 41, and she wants to keep it that way. “I don’t look 41 yet, so I’m trying to freeze time right here forever, until I’m, like, 80,” she said. “It’s unrealistic, but I’m convinced I can do it.” To help, she enlists a go-to—Living Libations' Green Papaya + Lime Mask.

“I quite like [it]—I really feel like it works,” she said. “The next day my skin is brighter.”

The exfoliating treatment uses natural AHAs—green papaya and pineapple enzymes—to gently exfoliate and lift away dead skin, revealing a smooth, glowing complexion. With added hydrators and skin strengtheners like aloe vera gel, golden jojoba, rosewater, comfrey, and horsetail, it works its magic without stripping the skin of moisture, which is why people—not just Williams—love it.

“Gentle exfoliant, leaves the skin glowing and renewed,” one Amazon reviewer writes. “I used it 2x a week. Everyone was saying how soft and ‘buttery’ my skin looked,” another raves. Someone else simply called the mask “incredible.”

As far as Williams’ face goes, she uses minimal products. Before going in with the mask, she removes dirt and impurities with Nu Skin's LumiSpa facial scrubbing device. And after rinsing the treatment off, she might use a serum—one of many she loves from Asutra.

“For anti-aging, I love the vitamin C serum from Asutra because it doesn’t make me break out,” she told NewBeauty last year. “My skin is so sensitive, but any time I can use antioxidants, I’m all about it.” She also uses the brand’s retinol and hyaluronic acid serums.

And during the day, she never skips SPF—which is why she formulated one specifically for darker skin tones: EleVen by Venus. “I was very naughty not wearing sunscreen for pretty much the first 35 years of my life,” she told NewBeauty. “I actually learned from my sister Serena. I would see her using SPF all the time and wearing long sleeves on the court, and there I was, never wearing any.”

She continued: “Now, I know it’s essential, especially for anti-aging, so I’m very diligent about applying it. I’ll apply one layer and let it dry, and then apply another one ... I also reapply while I’m playing.”

Whatever it takes to stay protected and glowing, right?
