New video games coming out this week | GT Sport, South Park, Life is Strange
We're firmly in release season now, which means we're hitting yet another week of major releases. South Park is finally back with another game, after it was delayed over and over again, Gran Turismo is finally on PS4, a classic RTS is back, the next episode in the Life is Strange prequel is coming. There's a whole damn lot.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole - October 17, PS4/Xbox One/PC
After delays upon delays upon delays, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, is coming out. From the South Park creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an RPG that parodies the superhero films of late, primarily the Marvel cinematic universe. Teaming up with Cartman, you'll take on a superhero persona to defeat Mysterion (Kenny) in a very Captain America: Civil War-esque plot.

WWE 2K18 - October 17, PS4/Xbox One/PC
It's the latest WWE game, for more people throwing chairs and generally beating the living daylights out of each other. Seth Rollins is the cover star this time, and there's a roster of 220 wrestlers and managers, with the ability to create your own wrestler also being available (although some are DLC or pre-order bonuses). There's apparently a wrestler called Brutus Beefcake, who is a real human being, too. This is the first time WWE 2K18 is coming to PC on the same day as consoles, with a Nintendo Switch version also coming in the near future, but the exact date hasn't been announced.
Gran Turismo Sport - October 18, PS4
October 17 is going to be a very busy day, and the first release to watch out for is GT Sport. After years in the making, a Gran Turismo game is finally bringing its realistic racing to PS4, after the last release in 2013 for the PS3. After a pretty successful demo just last week, plus an announcement of Lewis Hamilton's involvement in the series, it's going to be a strong contender against the other racing games that have released this year, Project Cars 2 and Forza Motorsport 7.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm | Episode 2 - October 19, PS4/Xbox One/PC
The prequel to Life is Strange, telling the backstory of Chloe Price rather than the original game's Max Caulfield, had its first episode released at the end of August this year. Episode 2 is coming out very soon, and looks to explore the history between Chloe and Frank Bowers, who you might recognise from the original Life is Strange. It's a three-episode series, so shorter than most episodic games, but there's no confirmed release date on the final episode. Given the timeframe for the first episode's release and this one, we can probably expect the final episode, Episode 3, to release in early 2018.
Fire Emblem Warriors - October 20, Nintendo Switch/New 3DS/New 2DS
Similarly to how Hyrule Warriors took the characters from The Legend of Zelda and put them in a Dynasty Warriors-style game, Fire Emblem Warriors featured characters from the Fire Emblem series, fighting off baddies in hack-and-slash action. Hyrule Warriors was a fun if repetitive game that introduced a lot of people to the Dynasty Warriors style of combat, and Fire Emblem Warriors will almost certainly do the same.
