Video: Here's More Epic Footage of Big Wave Surfing in the Canary Islands

Earlier this week, big wave cinematographer Tim Bonython treated his viewers to part one of big wave footage he filmed on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

He's already back with part two, featuring big waves from another big wave spot in Lanzarote called La Misteriosa, which according to Surf Market and Google Translate, is "one of the most powerful XXL waves in the North Atlantic."

La Misteriosa breaks on Lanzarote's outer reef in front of the fishing village of La Santa and only breaks with the biggest swells of the year.

The newest release by Bonython, called, Wind & Water Lanzarote - Part 2, is captioned:

"Here's part 2 featuring the big paddle stuff from a spot called La Misteriosa. Enjoy.. &"

The edit opens with a surf check as Bonython greets Ben Larg, a big wave surfer and Red Bull athlete from the Isle of Tiree

"Mr. Larg, mate. What's going on?"

"Not much, it's looking pretty good today, better than yesterday I think," Larg answers.

"It's looking like it's about ten to fifteen foot, and I think we've got a full day of action. Hopefully, the wind stays good," Bonython says.

Larg agrees, saying:

"Hopefully the winds stay good and hopefully the swell stays big. I mean, it's looking a little bit seasick but a pretty good day I reckon. I reckon it'll clean up," he says.

After that, a group of surfers, including Laura Coviella, a big wave surfer from Tenerife who we saw charging in part one, paddle out.

La Misteriosa is bombing and beautiful, and in true Bonythong fashion, it's dialogue free from then on.
