Video: Watch 3X Surfing World Champ Get Tubed at Really Good Pipeline

All eyes have been on Pipeline for the last week or so as pro surfers took advantage of the perfect surf while warming up for the Lexus Pipe Pro.

The contest's holding period kicks off today and runs until February 10th, marking the beginning of the 2024 World Championship Tour.

While a star-studded cast of surfers, including Kelly Slater, have scored at Pipe lately, the footage shows three-time world champ Gabriel Medina getting insanely barreled.

Off the Lip posted the video above and captioned it:

"Leading up to the first stop of the '24 WSL Tour, several epic swells hit the north shore.

"Most of the pros were out this day, but Gabriel Medina was a step above. Quick, sharp, and smooth; Medina navigated the Pipe tubes like it was just another day at the office. Incredible surfing"

The video's about eight minutes of raw footage featuring an all-star cast of pros, but with Medina standing out and scoring some mental barrels.

Viewers were stoked and started placing their bets (sort of) in the comments below:

"Crazy how he's top 5 surfers at Pipeline with about 3 hours total non-competition time out there. I'd choose him over JJF out there because he's a machine."

"I think both Gabriel and JJF are going to be firing on a whole different level this year. So awesome to watch, they are both maturing as men and Surfers"

"JJF and Medina would be my picks to take it. If Kelly is healthy and on, he may pull a magic trick. That’s if it’s proper Pipe. If it’s chest high and side/onshore than it might be someone else. (Italo)"
