'The View's Alyssa Farah Griffin Defends Whoopi Goldberg After 'Rude' On-Air Question

Alyssa Farah Griffin is letting everybody know that there are no hard feelings between her and Whoopi Goldberg.

It all started during the Thursday, Sept. 14 episode of The View, when the 67-year-old actress asked Griffin, 34, if she is pregnant while they were live on air.

Griffin—who was just as shocked as the audience to hear the question—responded by exclaiming "No! Oh, my God!" and covering her mouth.

Goldberg quickly apologized for the overstep, but after the episode aired, fans online were quick to call her out for asking the "rude" question. Now, Griffin is speaking out in defense of her co-anchor and her tendency to say whatever she's thinking.

"Whoopi, she thinks out loud sometimes," the political strategist said while reflecting on the incident during the Behind the Table podcast, adding that she was actually flattered by Goldberg's question.

"I chose to take it as a compliment—that I'm glowing," she explained, calling the Color Purple star "so sweet." She also noted that Goldberg apologized to her during the break.

"That’s what makes the show fun," Griffin further said of the unexpected question, adding that the show is "completely unpredictable." However, she did clarify once again that she is not pregnant at this time, despite the "vibe" Goldberg thought she was picking up on.

After Goldberg initially asked the question, Griffin joked, "You can’t say that when my mother-in-law is here, who's been dying for me to get pregnant!"

Griffin then explained during Thursday's The View episode that she and husband Justin Griffin are currently "thinking about" having kids, adding that she is "very open to be pregnant soon."

"I am not blessed to be pregnant yet," she reiterated at the time, before quipping, "I'll take a test when I get home just to be sure, though."
