'The View's Sunny Hostin Responds to Criticism From Ex Co-Host

Sunny Hostin is addressing Meghan McCain's shade head-on.

Earlier this month, McCain—who used to have a seat at the table on the popular daytime talk show The View—spoke out against the show in her column for The Daily Mail, where she doubled-down on her claims that she had a negative experience on the ABC show.

"I still feel an uncomfortable sting whenever another former host opens up about her negative experience," McCain, 38, wrote in her column, in which largely discussed fellow The View alum Rosie O'Donnell, who has also expressed criticism toward her time on the show.

McCain went on to say that hearing O'Donnell, among other alums, air their grievances about The View has been "validating" in some ways, as she has since realized, "I wasn't crazy. They were."

Hostin, 54, a current co-host of the show who previously worked with McCain, reacted to the disparaging column during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday, April 27.

"Let me take a drink," Hostin joked before responding to a fan question about McCain's column."I have not read the column. I have heard about it."

Despite the unfavorable light McCain has painted the show in, Hostin insisted, "Our show is a wonderful place."

"We're the number one talk show in the country, I'm happy to say," Hostin added.

She also admitted to being "surprised" to be among the hosts attacked by McCain, whose husband Ben Domenech also "likes to mean tweet about me," according to Hostin.

Hostin called the criticism from McCain and Domenech "shocking," as "Meghan and I have always been friendly. We've remained friends."

Drama aside, Hostin expressed no ill will toward McCain, stating, "I wish her well...We're really happy on the show. We're really a cohesive group."

"God bless," she concluded.
