The Viral Snack Trend that Hoda and Jenna Don't Agree On
Back in the day, you may have believed there were monsters under your bed.
But if you ask TODAY host Jenna Bush Hager, there's something even scarier lurking underneath beds these days: Snack drawers, which have gone viral on social media.
The hashtag #snackdrawerundermybed has nearly 30 million views on TikTok. The trend is exactly what it sounds like: A drawer of snacks underneath a person's bed, presumably so that someone can nosh without having to get up. And if you've seen any of the restocking videos on TikTok, you know that the under-bed snack drawer folks don't mess around. These compartmentalized drawers are stuffed with orderly rows of individually wrapped Rice Krispies Treats, Pop Tarts, any and every Little Debbie snack cake, single-serve packs of Pringles and so much more. It seriously looks like a convenience store under your bed.

When Jenna and Hoda discussed the trend recently, it was clear that Jenna was not on board. Hoda kicked things off by saying: “A lot of people like to snack in bed. I feel you, and I’m with you ― I think it’s a good idea.”
But Hager was having none of it. “Can you imagine what a sleeve—first of all—of Ritz Crackers does to your sheets?” she said, referring to one of Hoda's favorite snacks. "Hoda, you gotta give up eating in bed,” Hager implored.
"It's cozy," Kotb insisted.
Though convenient, even Kotb, who is Team Eat-In-Bed, admitted that she isn't totally sold on the idea. She turned down Hager's offer to gift her one because she doesn't like bugs.
"If there's a slight risk of bugs, I wouldn't do it," Kotb said.
Hager saw this con to snack drawers as further proof that eating in bed is a zero-star idea.
“So that it’s all over your ground?” Hager said. “In your New York City apartment where little mice like to come and eat a Ritz Cracker?!”
Fans gave their takes on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
"I would never eat in bed — nope, not me," said one.
"I don't eat in bed, but I support it — more power to her snack time," wrote another.
But another commenter was distinctly in Kotb's corner.
"What is the big deal?" the person asked, adding, "I live on [Long Island] in a house. My house is clean — sheets [are] done every week. [I] Vaccum hardwood floors in room daily, and I eat either saltine crackers or Ritz in my bed at night. I see no bugs."
