You Can Visit These 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Filming Locations In Real Life
True to the group's ethos, the show has filmed throughout New York and New Jersey.
For the uninitiated, to be a fan of the Wu-Tang Clan is to adopt a way of life. The legendary and truly unique rap group started in 1992 with founding members RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, and U-God, Inspectah Deck, and Masta Killa; they later picked up their close friend, Cappadonna.
With their martial arts-inspired tracks and the sheer size of their group, Wu-Tang introduced the world to another way to conceptualize what rap can sound and look like. Wu-Tang was fresh and revolutionary, and the release of the group's debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) altered the course of the lives of each member of the clan.
In 2018, Hulu announced the streaming network was partnering with RZA to bring the story of the Wu-Tang Clan to the small screen. Per Hulu's statement, the planned premise of the show was to mirror the real-life story of the group. The statement read,"Set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories."
Since its debut, fans of Wu-Tang have consistently tuned in to the series. Now that the show is well into its third and final season, there's a curiosity about the behind-the-scenes details, including where Hulu has filmed throughout the series.
