'The Voice' Reveals Its Mega Mentor for Season 25 and It's a Country Star

Season 25 again like Season 24 of The Voice didn’t employ any mentors for its Battle rounds, but it has a big name in music coming as the Mega Mentor for the Knockouts, beginning Monday, April 8.

That’s when Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum artist and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Keith Urban will join coaches John Legend, Chance the Rapper, Reba McEntire and Dan + Shay to mentor the artists who make it to that point in the competition.
As with the Battles, in the Knockouts, the artists are paired against a teammate, but in this category, they select their own song to perform individually while their direct competitor watches and waits.

With his deep-seated passion for music, vast performing experience, versatility and musical virtuosity, Urban’s job will be to provide invaluable advice to the artists alongside the coaches to bolster their unique strengths and elevate their performances.
But when the Playoffs take place, it’s the coaches who solely – or in the case of Dan + Shay duo-ly-- choose the winner from their team to advance to the Playoffs, the last round before the Live Shows.

During the Knockouts, each coach will also have one Steal.
Urban previously appeared on The Voice as an adviser to coach Blake Shelton during Season 15. He also served as a coach in the Australian version of The Voice for Seasons 1, 10 and 11.
One of the most successful and well-respected artists in the world, Urban has garnered four Grammy Awards, 13 CMAs, 15 ACMs, three AMAs, two People’s Choice Awards and celebrated nine consecutive gold, platinum, or multi-platinum albums. Urban is set to release a new album later this year, which will include “Straight Line” and its first single, “Messed Up As Me.”
The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and next day on Peacock.
