Voodoo Doughnut launches spooky collection for ‘Summerween’
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Portland-based Voodoo Doughnut launched a new line of doughnuts on Thursday to celebrate Halloween in the summer, or “Summerween.”
The doughnut shop is offering a Spooky Summer Half Dozen, inspired by “those looking to add a touch of whimsy and magic to their summer days,” Voodoo Doughnut said.
“Who doesn’t love summer flavors with a spooky twist?” Said Chris Schultz, CEO of Voodoo Doughnut.

The doughnuts feature bright, tropical flavors, including the Brain Squeeze donut – a “ghastly purple monster” with fruit punch filling and candy crunch brain bits, and the Watermelon Jack-O-Lantern, which is drenched in watermelon frosting and adorned with a Jack-O-Lantern face.
The shop’s classic Voodoo Doll doughnut also has a Summerween twist, decorated with a swimsuit. Other flavors include the I Scream Cone with maple frosting, and the Diablos Rex, a chocolate cake donut with strawberry frosting and chocolate chips.
The Spooky Summer Half Dozen is available at VooDoo Doughnut locations across the United States until July 31.
