Ashland Farm Dairy, located at 680 Plymouth St. in East Bridgewater, was recently purchased in March by Nichole Theriault, a longtime ice cream lover and food entrepreneur.

Theriault comes from the family who owns the Oringer brand, a company that had specialized since 1918 in providing the stock products used by on-site producers of ice cream and milkshakes.

The entrepreneur wanted to fly solo after spending many years working for different businesses and giving them her precious ice cream ideas, which took off.

Theriault now creates her own ice cream concoctions and lets her imagination run wild.

To some, she’s considered the “Willy Wonka “of East Bridgewater with her wacky flavors like sweet corn, lemon meringue pie, Mexican hot chocolate, and cotton candy.

Theriault gives all the props to her father, Rod Oringer, who is the real “Willy Wonka” or the original “Candy Man,” she said.

Every week, she brainstorms different ideas with her brother, Austin Oringer, who helps her twice weekly.
