The Votes Are In! This Former Taco Bell Menu Item Will Return Next Month
Taco Bell recently granted fans with the rare opportunity to vote for the former menu item they'd like to see return. Well, the people have spoken, and the throwback item that will be returning to Taco Bell menus next month is...the Enchirito!
The Enchirito was up against a formidable opponent, the Double Decker Taco, but still managed to bring home an impressive 62 percent of the votes. In total, 760,000 Taco Bell Rewards members voted.
A true throwback, the Enchirito dates all the way back to 1970. It's comprised of a soft flour tortilla loaded with seasoned beef, beans, and diced onions. The tortilla is then rolled up and smothered with a red sauce and topped with melted shredded cheddar cheese. The cheesy bite was discontinued in 2013.
Fans will be able to get their hands on the Enchirito from November 17 through November 30, either through Taco Bell’s app, delivery, online, or via in-store at locations nationwide.
Despite the Enchirito receiving well over half the votes, a number of users on Instagram were disappointed with the results. An Instagram post from Taco Bell announcing the Enchirito as the winner was flooded with comments from people who had hoped the Double Decker Taco would pull through. "Voter fraud for sure. The Double D is the superior choice," one upset user wrote.
You win some, you lose some. As long as the Mexican pizza is a permanent menu item, we'll be okay.
