Wales Bonner has been one of the most vital collaborators on the Adidas Samba, if not the most, by honoring the sneaker’s heritage while adding unexpected, elegant details such as crocheted detailing and even a metallic leather. Eight hit versions have released since 2020, and the collection is set to grow four stronger this month.

The upcoming quartet of Wales Bonner Sambas will bring new flourishes including pony hair and leopard print. One of the four is fairly conventional by the partnership’s standards, with a suede, leather, and nubuck upper appearing in burgundy and cream and complemented by a blue sockliner and dark brown outsole.
Each of the remaining three sneakers makes use of faux pony hair, including a black and off-white version bringing a luxurious flip to the staple colorway. This variant makes use of a translucent gum sole, a feature that repeats on another colorway in off-white and burgundy. But the biggest standout has to be the pair with leopard print pony hair sitting atop a regular gum sole and bringing back the blue liner. Each of the sneakers makes use of the contrast, crochet-like stitching that’s signature to the series throughout the upper.
The accompanying apparel collection in unisex sizing takes inspiration from both the ’70s and ’90s, and includes tracksuits, a turtleneck, polo sweater, and soccer shorts. Pro skateboarder Na-Kel Smith is one of the campaign’s models, and the video component sees playwright Jeremy O. Harris posing questions to the cast.
The next quartet of Wales Bonner x Adidas Sambas has been confirmed for a Nov. 8 release date through . Pricing will range from $180 to $220 for the footwear. Adidas’ website, the Confirmed app, and select third-party retailers.
In a month that’s quickly becoming flush with sneaker releases, expect this drop to be one of the very best and thus all the harder to catch. The last drop of Wales Bonner Sambas wasn’t quite hyped as the past, but the addition of faux pony hair and a dynamic leopard print are likely to bring ample attention.
