5 Things a Groom Should Never Forget on His Wedding Day

My husband and I were in a wedding last weekend and I was quickly reminded how easy guys have it. While us ladies had to start hair and makeup at 9am (for a 4pm wedding start time), my hubs went out golfing for the day... and he only had to be ready an hour-ish before the wedding. Not fair! But that doesn't mean a groom's getting ready routine isn't as important, which is why I love this inspiration from Stephanie Sunderland and team, plus 5 things grooms should never forget to do!

1. To Relax

This goes for brides too, of course. But grooms typically have a lot more time on their hands, which makes the wait to say I do feel like forever. Take the time to relax and enjoy your morning with breakfast in bed, brunch with the guys or another chill activity to make those excitable feelings a little more bearable.

2. To Pamper

That's right, grooms deserve to be pampered, too. Don't forget to book an appointments necessary to look your best. Treat yourself with a straight shave (if that's the look you're going for), a massage, mani/pedi (your bride will thank you), etc.

3. Rehearse Your Vows

Always a good idea... even if you're repeating vows from your officiant! And especially if you're going with custom vows. Take the time to really let those words soak in and appreciate what they mean. It's what this day is all about.

4. Write out a love letter.

Whether it's a few words in a cute card or a full out letter, make sure to jot something down for your love—something he or she will cherish for years to come.

5. Take a Moment to Reflect

...and don't forget the last little details! Grab everything you need, including the rings!

From Stephanie Sunderland... This shoot tells the story of the modern groom getting ready on his wedding day. In our story we follow the modern groom as he eats breakfast in bed, writes his vows, spends time with his dog, gets a fresh shave, heads out the door and jumps into a cab to go to the ceremony. I have seen so many styled shoots with a focus on the bride and thought it would be nice to focus on the groom for a change. We also included all the details that our modern groom would have including ring, invitations, pocket watch, shoe horn etc!
