Everyone has a morning routine, right? And it can be hectic for most people. I'm woke enough to know that, at least.(See what I did there?)
As an interior designer, I've enjoyed the wondrous privilege of being my own boss for over a decade now, and I wouldn't trade it for all the coffee at Starbucks. Don't get me wrong, my phone still gently wakes me by 8:30 every morning with dulcet chimes that slowly escalate until I've "opened up those baby greens," as my mom used to say back when her pointer finger in my ribs was my alarm clock. I'm typically awake before the chimes strike, but definitely not 'up'.
Lazy daze
First I read the news briefing, followed by my emails, then I play five rounds of Disney Emoji Blitz to eeeease into the day. Only once that's completed do I even contemplate getting out of bed, and that's accomplished if and only if there isn't a pile of cats impeding my person. Then I wash up, feed said cats, make and eat breakfast, and sit down to work, not necessarily in that order. By then, it's 11 am. Yup. I didn't even include a shower in that list! I don't know where the morning goes.
Lately, however, I've had a lot of morning appointments and I can't make a poor impression by showing up 20 minutes late. I get really anxious when I have to leave the house at a specific time. Old habits die hard, so I needed major help to speed up my morning routine. And then, I discovered Walmart+, the retailer's new delivery service. Things arrive on my doorstep in a snap without me having to leave the house! Perfect.
Good morning, indeed!
The signup was easy — a risk-free trial gives you 15 days, but a quick three-question survey will tack on two more weeks. After your 30 days are up, you’ll be charged $13 per month or $98 per year — your call.
The annual fee is comparable to Amazon Prime, but you get access to fresh groceries, perishables and other household items without any additional tag-on expense. There's same-day delivery for when you're in a pinch.
Not only does the delivery save me time and energy, but shopping online is a breeze. Once I order, my previous purchases are automatically saved in my account, so I can add items into my cart without searching. All my faves are right in front of me for the clicking. Grocery shopping that used to take an hour now takes minutes, with no mask required.
Here are some of the goodies I found at Walmart to help speed up my morning routine.
Remedy Organics — Matcha Oxidants
I'm hooked on these miracle elixirs from Remedy Organics. They're completely plant-based, have 12 to 14 grams of protein, and are filled with good stuff like turmeric and maca. Plus, the prebiotics make gut health a no brainer. Skip the yogurt — getting that spoon adds time to your day! And I can take these on the go, so breakfast in the car removes an entire step from my morning musts. They also come in Chai, Vanilla and Chocolate flavors and did I mention — they are delicious. The matcha adds a little spring in my otherwise lethargic morning step.
