In a year when uncertainty and heightened anxiety have become the norm, it’s worth exploring the moves we make in all areas of our lives. What intentions are driving our actions with family, friends, and coworkers? Are we reacting to stress and current events, or have we determined a thoughtful approach to a challenge?

It's a lot to think about all at once, so here are some strategies that can help you make every move from a solid foundation of well-being:

Embrace other possibilities.

It’s common to hold the mindset that life is a zero-sum game, that some people win while others have to lose. But it’s time to question this scarcity mentality, whether we’re resolving issues at home, developing inclusive societies, or approaching the climate crisis. How can we design communities that increase value and vitality for everyone?

Allow nature to move your mind.

When you find yourself stuck in zero-sum thinking (and we all get stuck in it), take a walk outside. Fully receiving the water or the trees in all their wisdom and beauty has a way of teaching us about abundance.

Check your intention.

Next time you’re faced with a big decision, pause to get in touch with your real motivation. Are you interested in being right or in being effective? Take deep breaths to connect with your sense of inner balance and well-being, then ask yourself what you most want to channel through the next move you make.
