Calling all foodies: Warner Robins launches its first burger week contest this fall

A popular contest in Macon and other cities, Burger Week is coming to Warner Robins.

The inaugural Warner Robins Burger Week was announced Monday by the city of Warner Robins and Visit Warner Robins.

Each participating restaurant will offer burger creations crafted specifically for the event and not available on its regular menu.

Restaurant-goers participating in the event vote for their favorite. The burger with the most votes receives the People’s Choice Champion award.

Participating restaurants must be locally owned.

“We are excited to host the first-ever Warner Robins Burger Week,” Mayor LaRhonda W. Patrick said in the announcement. “This event not only celebrates our vibrant local dining scene but also encourages residents and visitors to discover the culinary talents and creativity of our local chefs.”

The event will take place Sept. 22-28.

At the Warner Robins Burger Week website, restaurants within city limits can sign up to participate in the contest. Sign-up began Monday.

Participating residents and visitors also will be able to sign up on the website for an electronic passport that enables them to be eligible to win prizes. The city and Visit Warner Robins expect more than a dozen restaurants to participate.

To make sure their vote counts, diners need to hold onto their receipts and take pictures of the burgers they try, according to the website.

The burgers will cost $10 each. Sides and drinks are additional, and participants are asked to tip to show support for the local businesses.

Burger Week is “a week-long celebration dedicated to the art of burger-making, inviting food enthusiasts to explore a diverse range of flavors, toppings, and cooking styles across the city’s dining scene,” the website reads.

“Whether you’re a burger aficionado or simply love trying new culinary delights, Warner Robins Burger Week promises a deliciously unforgettable experience for all.”
