Warning Signs of a Possible Mass Shooter
Following the mass shooting in northern California, where 5 people were killed and several injured The Doctors discuss possible warning signs that a person might act out violently.
Clinical psychologist Dr. Judy Ho shares the shocking statistic that between 2009 and 2016, there have been over 156 mass shootings in the country, and of those 54 percent involved some kind of domestic dispute or violence. She says domestic violence can be a warning sign that someone may commit more violence like a mass shooting.

Dr. Judy goes on to explain there is a disproportionate number of people who commit mass shootings have severe untreated mental illness. She says there can often be co-occurring substance abuse among these individuals, which can exacerbate their existing issues.
She also says that if you do see a progression of mental illness or violence in someone that further steps, like contacting the authorities, are required.
