Washburn University excites students with annual summer block party
TOPEKA (KSNT) – Washburn University students had the chance to gather on campus for the school’s annual summer block party Wednesday July 17.
Students were able to participate in various yard games, sing karaoke and check in on their enrollment status. There was also a booth specifically set up to help students with any FAFSA application questions. The block party was organized by several Washburn students involved in leadership throughout the school.
Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success Alan Bearman told 27 News, the party speaks to the success of those students.

“One of the things Washburn does exceptionally well is create young leaders,” Bearman said. “And we do that by giving them a chance to lead. And we give them events like this and we work along side them, but we let them loose. We let them drive the bus so to speak.”
Washburn University’s enrollment will continue throughout September, 2024.
