Watch Beth Behrs Hilariously Swing a Sledgehammer for the First Time on 'Secret Celebrity Renovation' (Exclusive)
Secret Celebrity Renovation has appeal across multiple avenues. On the surface, it's an opportunity for stars to reveal sides of themselves we've never seen, even from decades of getting to know them. That's because they're given the opportunity to provide home renovations to people who have had a profound effect on their lives and careers, who helped inform who they became today. On the other hand, we can also watch celebrities be in way over their head as they are thrown into the world of construction.
That's where Beth Behrs finds herself in the exclusive clip below from tonight's episode of Secret Celebrity Renovation, airing at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. The star of The Neighborhood and Two Broke Girls is gifting Lauren, the "rock" of her college friend group, with a special makeover to her home in Buena Vista, California. But as she shows with design team "Boston" Rob Mariano (Survivor) and Sabrina Soto (Design Star, Trading Spaces), it doubles as a learning opportunity.
Before beginning the demo on Lauren's house, Beth displays a letter written by her husband. "Dear producers/hosts," it reads. "Under no circumstances should you allow my dear wife to wield a Sawzall or anything sharp. A sledgehammer is fine as long as she’s closely supervised. On behalf of her newborn daughter, thank you." Despite the concerns, Boston Rob simply replies, "Michael, you shoulda been here!"
Unfortunately for Michael, Beth is put to work, given a sledgehammer to start taking down a wall. In a hilarious sequence, she starts dancing with it as if she came right from the chorus line. But her toe-tapping skills are much stronger than her hammer-swinging skills, as she struggles to make a dent. As Sabrina runs in to finish the job, Beth deadpans to the camera, "I’ve learned through demo how weak I am."
