Watch This New Clip From Star Wars: Ahsoka
It’s not long to go now before the hotly anticipated Star Wars: Ahsoka launches on Disney+. The eight-episode series kicks off tomorrow, August 23, at 6PM PT with a two-episode premiere. Ahead of then, however, you can get a good look at one of its standout action sequences in this clip.
Here, Hera and her hapless droid Chopper give chase to an enemy ship - with one caveat. They can’t shoot the ship down or it’ll crash into the city below. Instead, Hera tells Chopper to ready a tracking device, prompting the C1-series astromech unit to rummage around comically in its compartment.
As you can see in the sequence, Star Wars: Ahsoka looks to be a more light-hearted take on the Star Wars universe than previous entries. Obi-Wan and Andor, while great in their own right, were often dour. Ahoska’s first live action series meanwhile looks like Star Wars Rebels come to life, especially in this clip where the legendary Jedi whips out double lightsabers.
With Seven-time Emmy nominee David Filoni directing, we’re in good hands. He’s previously brought us The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The cast is solid too: Rosario Dawson plays Ahsoka, with appearances from Lars Mikkelsen, Hayden Christensen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson and David Tennant.
As per the official synopsis: ‘after the fall of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.’ For more, check out five key takeaways from the Ahsoka trailer.
