Name a better duo...we'll wait.

What a way to make a living!

Kelly Clarkson and Dolly Parton took the stage for a jaw-dropping performance during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that aired on Dec. 1. They surprised the audience with a powerhouse performance of Parton's iconic track, "9 to 5."

In a clip of the duet, which was part of the show's "Kellyoke" segment, Clarkson, 40, starts off the first verse before Parton, 76, makes a grand entrance and belts out the chorus of the beloved song from 1980. The two then continue the rest of the tune together while harmonizing and perfectly complimenting both of their distinct tones.

Earlier this year, the American Idol alum had the chance to record a reimagined version of Parton's hit song alongside the country legend herself.

Over 40 years after the song's original release, the duo joined forces on the new take of the song as part of Parton's documentary, Still Working 9 to 5

In a press release about the new recording—which debuted Sept. 16—Parton said, "Nobody sings like Kelly Clarkson. She makes any song come alive."

"I love her voice on '9 to 5' and I am so proud I got to sing with her on it," she added at the time, as Parade previously reported. "I'm equally as proud of the wonderful arrangement and production by Shane McAnally."

In her own press statement, the "Since U Been Gone" songstress reciprocated the love for Parton, writing, "I am so honored that Dolly asked me to reimagine this iconic song, '9 to 5' with her!"
