Dua Lipa might have traded the mermaid tail for mesh and leather as she opened the 2024 Grammys, performing a medley of her new single “Training Season,” as well as “Dance The Night” and “Houdini,” but she’s still riding the wave of her Barbie cameo, having clinched two nominations for the film’s beloved dance-number track. Lipa’s Grammys performance—which, I might add, included an exquisite dance break—set the tone for what just might be a riveting awards night. (As host Trevor Noah put it, “I’m never going to look at scaffolding the same again.”)

Tonight, the “Levitating” singer was fresh off her appearance in a flame-red be-baubled trench coat at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala on Saturday, and Sunday she touched down on the Grammys red carpet in Courrèges dragonscale chainmail—or something like that—before traipsing backstage to prepare for her showcase. As Lipa herself admitted to her fans on Instagram, it’s been a “crazy weeeek!!” for the artist: Her film Argylle just released in theaters; she’s building up hype for the official drop of “Training Season,” out February 15, as well as her upcoming third studio album; and, oh, she’s in a new relationship.

On the Grammys red carpet tonight, Lipa shared with ET that the new single is about refusing to wait around for “people to love you right. You’re just like, ‘Training season is over.’ You’re done teaching people how to do things right. ‘Come correct or don’t come at all,’ exactly, that’s the vibe.”

Lipa certainly came correct for tonight’s medley. Watch a few clips of Lipa’s 2024 Grammys performance below.
