How to Watch the Emmys on Your Laptop, Phone, or Even Your TV

From Harper's BAZAAR

The Emmys are taking place tonight (Sunday, September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, and the evening is set to be a star-studded affair.

While the ceremony will be airing live on FOX from 8 p.m. EDT, a whole host of pre-show events and special live streams will also be available this evening. If you don't want to miss a single red carpet look, here's how you to tune in to the epic awards ceremony.

On FOX or the FOX NOW app

You can stream the Emmys live at fox.com, or via the FOX NOW app, but both require you to login via your cable package.

FOX is also planning a plethora of pre-show coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, hosted by Kelly Osbourne, Jenny McCarthy, and Shannon Sharpe of FOX Sports, so you can make an entire night of it.

You can access the FOX NOW app via:

  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

  • Android phone, tablet, or TV DOWNLOAD

  • Apple TV

  • Amazon Fire TV or Fire Tablet

  • Roku DOWNLOAD

Via an online-only streaming service

If you're not a cable subscriber, then it's still possible to watch FOX via a number of streaming services. Obviously, a good internet connection is crucial, but each provider offers competitive deals, and you'll get a bunch of other channels to boot.

  • AT&T's TV Now offers access to FOX in its cheapest package, which costs $50 a month. Seeing as you'll also get premium channels like HBO included in the price, it's really not a bad deal.

  • Philo is another super-affordable option, with packages starting from as little as $20 per month.

  • Sling TV deals starting at $25 include FOX in their line-up, and depending on your price point, you can grab yourself some premium content like HBO, Showtime, or Starz, too. You can even get 40 percent off your first month, cutting the first bill down to $15.

  • PlayStation Vue's Access Plan costs $49.99 per month, includes the all-important FOX, and offers a 5-day free trial.

  • YouTube TV works exactly the same way and offers viewers access to a range of premium channels, which can be streamed from all of your home devices. Subscription is also $49.99 per month.

  • Hulu with Live TV is the perfect option for any existing Hulu customers who love the streaming service and want to add extra channels to their package, for $44.99 per moth.

Via Emmys Backstage LIVE!

If you head over to the Emmys website on the night, the Backstage LIVE! feed will be available for viewers. Go behind the scenes of one of TV's biggest nights with an online equivalent of a backstage pass, including exclusive access to celebrities in attendance.

In case the official Emmys coverage isn't enough for you, then People.com and EW.com both promise to feature live streams on their websites throughout the night. You don't have to miss a single second of the epic awards show.

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards air on Sunday, September 22 on FOX from 8 p.m. EDT.
