Watch the New ‘Frozen 2’ Trailer and Tell Us if You Agree There’s a Lot of ‘Game of Thrones’ Stuff Going On
In the realm of adults, there are few things more popular than Game of Thrones. To kids, however, Frozen is king. So what do you get when you mix a little bit of both? Judging from the brand-new trailer for Frozen 2, fun for the whole family.
Disney dropped the first full trailer for the long-awaited animated film today starring Kristen Bell, who voices Anna, and Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa. In the new iteration of Frozen, the sisters travel to the enchanted North. Yep, basically they’re pulling a Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) before all that crazy/awkward stuff happened. Seem like kind of a stretch? Watch for yourself.
We begin on the shores of some beach (ahem, just like Dragonstone), where Elsa is experimenting with her powers in the midst of some massive waves. She’s thrown under the water, where she sees a magical horse swimming toward her (kind of like Arya’s white horse, no?).
In the following scene, Kristoff’s (voiced by Jonathan Groff) troll friend explains to Anna that she and Elsa must travel to the North to learn the extent of Elsa’s powers and why she has them. (Need we mention that Kristoff looks an awful lot like Tormund Giantsbane?)
Along the way, it appears they come across some giants, waterfalls, wildfire and stones that look an awful lot like the place where the Children of Men created the Night King. With that, we rest our case.
Frozen 2 hits theaters on November 22. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait…unlike a certain finale.
