What the Weather Symbols on Your iPhone Mean
Given all the crazy weather we've had across the country recently, checking your iPhone's weather app before you go outside is a must. And Apple has 25 different symbols to help figure out if you should wear those cute tassel sandals or play it safe and go with the rain boots. But some of those symbols might as well be the shrugging emoji because they make most people cry, "What do they all meeeeean?"
Thankfully, Apple (via Metro) has explained the meaning behind every single one and, honestly, it's about time.
When it comes to snow, there's actually four possibilities; standard snow, scattered snow, heavy snow/ sleet, and blowing snow. So watch out for one of those as winter wraps up.
There are also icons for extreme temperatures – scorching and freezing – and even one for smoke.
Whatever the weather, Apple has a symbol. Whether you ever actually get to seem them all without booking a world cruise, however, is an entirely different matter.
