Who Went Home on ‘The Bachelor’ Episode 5 fter Two Rose Ceremonies?
Joey Graziadei’s The Bachelor ended with a cliffhanger instead of a rose ceremony on Monday night’s show.
But viewers got two rose ceremonies on Tuesday night and the resolution of the Maria drama in Malta.
On Monday, fans saw Joey eliminate Sydney instead of Maria after a two-on-one boating date from hell.
That angered other women, and sobbing Maria looked like she would self-eliminate, raging at the end of episode 4, “I’m out!”
But on Tuesday night’s show, after a consoling chat with Madina, Maria pulled herself together to attend the rose ceremony. She already was safe, as Joey had awarded her the date rose.

Who went home in the first rose ceremony?
Edwina Dorbor
Allison Hollinger
With Sydney gone, Lea had become Maria’s harshest rival and she complained to cameras about her.
Lexi, Kelsey T. and Maria already held roses from Joey’s various dates in Malta.
At the ceremony, Joey awarded other roses to: Kelsey A., Katelyn, Daisy, Rachel, Jenn, Autumn, Jess, Madina and Lea.
That meant Edwina and Allison, who was part of a bizarre sister duo before her sibling Lauren previously went home, had ended their show journeys.
Maria sighed that she would now “keep my eye on the prize,” Joey!
Who received the first one-on-one date in a new locale?
The group traveled from Malta to scenic Andalusia, Spain.
Joey drove Kelsey A. away on a Vespa, leaving the others to mope and snipe.
Lea asked the cameras, “Why is Maria still here?” and Kelsey T. excused herself to cry about not getting the one-on-one date.
Joey and Kelsey A. picked up food for an Andalusian picnic and he told cameras she made him feel special.
“I feel like I know you already so well,” Kelsey A. told him.
Over dinner, she told him how her military police officer mother got diagnosed with breast cancer that “metastasized to her bones.” Kelsey A.’s mom tragically passed away after two months.
She confided to Joey it was hard for her to think about getting married without her mother being there.
“Thank you for sharing,” Joey told her, giving her the date rose and raving to cameras about how Kelsey A. was “kind and loving.”
After kisses, the beauty said in confessional that she was falling for him.
What happened on The Bachelor group date?
Lexi, Daisy, Jenn, Autumn, Maria, Katelyn, Madina, Lea, Jess, and Kelsey T. were named for Joey’s group date, meaning that Rachel would have the next one-on-one.
The gals met Joey at a villa in Marbella, Spain, where a female artist asked them to write quotes about The Bachelor and then convey their feelings through painting. Whoever did that the best would enjoy private time with Joey.
Jenn’s painting showed a yellow surf board to reference her earlier date with him, Daisy painted a rainbow, and Katelyn’s work depicted heart strings.
Lea loved to paint and thought her rendition of hibiscus flowers and sunshine would win, but the Spanish artist announced Jess’ painting of engagement rings was number one.
Thrilled Jess and Joey donned swimwear to paint each other’s bodies.
What did Maria say about her family?
At the cocktail party later, Maria stood out by speaking with Joey alone about her past.
She had grown up mostly with her dad. “My mom left. She wasn’t around.”
Maria revealed when she was one year old, she and her mom had been in a terrifying car accident in which a cement truck fell on them.
They were believed dead at the scene, but both miraculously pulled through. Maria’s mother, however, “broke almost every bone in her body” and also was mentally broken, becoming depressed and not “capable of being a mom,” she told Joey.
Maria’s dad raised her well, however, and she said, “I don’t have anything to complain about…I’m always trying to see the positive in things.”
Also, she and her mom had recently developed a much better relationship.
Joey gave Maria the group date rose after her emotional story.
Lea was upset about that, groaning in confessional, “My heart is in my ass.”
How did Rachel impress Joey on their one-on-one date?
“I’m a slow burn,” Rachel told cameras about not being able to talk about personal things too soon.
After a flamenco dance lesson and performance in front of locals, Rachel and Joey bonded over dinner.
“The conversation just flows” with her, Joey noted.
Rachel told Joey how she was born and raised in Hawaii, where Joey has taught tennis. But she moved to pursue a career in nursing.
She warned him that nurses work long hours and deal with sad situations, making dating hard.
But she was stuck on Joey, who reminded her of her dad!
He was entranced and handed Rachel the second one-on-one date rose.
They kissed amid fireworks at the end of the night.
Who went home tonight on The Bachelor second rose ceremony?
Autumn Waggoner
Madina Alam
At the cocktail party, Joey insisted to Daisy, who has won fans' hearts because of her hearing loss, “I think my wife is here.”
When Katelyn was chatting privately with him, Maria interrupted them, even though she already had her rose.
The other ladies got angry, particularly Jess, who branded Maria disrespectful.
When Maria returned to the group, Jess told her, “You’ve been so f---ing rude!” and called her a b---h.
Jess stormed off with Lea following to comfort her. Jess admitted she’d “lost it.”
With Kelsey A., Maria, and Rachel already clutching their date roses, Joey had seven more left to give.
He awarded them to Jenn, Kelsey T., Daisy, Lea, Lexi, Katelyn, and Jess.
That meant Autumn and Madina were sent packing, and left ten women in the competition for Joey.
Madina said in confessional, shedding tears, “I don’t feel like we got to know each other.”
Joey told the remaining ladies that they would be heading to Montreal, Canada for next Monday’s episode.
Lea still had Canadian native Maria on her mind, telling cameras, “The drama has only just begun. Watch your back, girl.”
