We're Obsessed with These 5 Magical Decor Ideas from the 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' Set
Grab your wand; this wizard-inspired decor is truly spellbinding.
The Russo family returns to the lair—this time to teach a young magical prodigy the ropes. Though we couldn’t be more excited about the mystical reboot of an old favorite, we might be just as entranced by the set itself.
Actor David Henrie—or as we know him—Justin Russo, led a tour of the new Wizards Beyond Waverly Place set, and every detail will bring you back to the days when teenage Selena Gomez meddled with the world of magic. Each room's interior took inspiration from the original Wizards of Waverly Place decor—including the iconic orange couch from the OG show's family room. We're diving wands first into the array of decor ideas we spotted on set—and can't get enough of.

Orange-Turned-Yellow Sofa
The Reboot intended to pay homage to a childhood classic, and it did just that by incorporating a brightly colored couch as the focal point of Justin Russo's living room.
“The couch is a staple in every sitcom," said Henrie. "And in the original Wizards of Waverly Place, there was a very iconic orange couch. So we wanted to do a similar color, something that paid homage to the original.”
Like the Russos, opt for a vibrant couch to take center stage in your living room. While orange and yellow may be the front runners for bursts of colors in wizard decor, a bright pink or electric blue will still do the trick in your home.
Unlike other areas of the show, the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place living room isn’t all that crowded— It’s cozy, functional, and defined by its seating area. The great thing about living rooms is that you don’t need much furniture to create a specific aesthetic.
Exposed Brick
The design team aimed to create a kitchen in the Russo home that perfectly showcased the family’s style while retaining the look of Staten Island homes. You’ll find modern touches scattered throughout, but the exposed brick transports us back to the days when Alex, Max, and Justin learned valuable lessons from their parents in their home above the sub shop—including how easy it is to cook spaghetti without magic.
Older homes often feature fireplaces with exposed brick or even full brick walls in the living room. Instead of tearing down the history behind the structure, incorporate it into the home's decor like the generations of Russo's did. Pair red with green accents throughout the home to make these complementary colors pop. This can be done with forest green accent pillows or sage green kitchen cabinets.
Raised Garden Beds
Blooming raised garden beds can fit into any backyard layout—whether an expansive one or a more quaint planter as on set. If you want to emulate Shea McGee’s dreamy backyard or harvest your favorite vegetables, raised beds will do the trick because they’re easy to access and add extra foliage to your backyard.
And there are plenty of styles when incorporating a raised garden bed. For those into the cottage core trend, paint your garden bed white and infuse it with delicate wildflowers. If your home's main feature is stone, build your planter bed with it to make the outdoors cohesive with the exteriors.
If you want to make sure your garden is seen by all the neighbors, try raising the bed on legs so it stands proud in your yard.
Billie’s Bold Bedroom Paint Color
If you loved Alex’s bedroom in the original television show, you're in for a treat with new prodigy Billie’s room: it features dark purple walls, crystal trinkets, and varying textures reminiscent of Alex's fuchsia-colored furry wallpaper.
Color-drenching and monochrome rooms are on the rise, and Billie’s room fits in perfectly with her moody decor. But just because a room's walls are dark, it doesn't mean the room itself will be. Other design elements in the room can bring brightness in without being overpowered by the wall color. Think white lampshades or a pastel duvet.

Upside-Down Herb Gardens
Head to the lair and discover delicately hung herbs above the wizards as they learn about casting spells and saving the world. Bring nature indoors by hanging fried herbs, plants, or flowers anywhere from the kitchen to above your bedside table.
Hanging eucalyptus or lavender from a showerhead has become a popular trend in spa-like bathrooms to ensure a calming and relaxing atmosphere as you wash your worries away.
