Westchester hot dog spot to close after two years
Mohegan Lake's Dog Haus, in business for two years, will permanently close after Jan. 14.
The announcement was made on the restaurant's Facebook page with the owners writing how "fun" the ride was and. They said this "last week is gonna be lit" with performances by Dan Zlotnick on Thursday and Dave Diedrich on Friday as well as football Saturday and Sunday. They're also planning free giveaways.
The franchise — the first in Westchester and number 50 for the company overall — opened in December 2021 and featured an extensive list of beers in addition to hot dogs, burgers, chicken and sausages. Co-owner Andrew Hamerling told The Journal News/lohud that demand just wasn't there to keep the restaurant afloat.
This is the third Westchester restaurant to close just days into the new years. Oscar's in Blauvelt closed after 12 years; Meso Mediterranean after three.
