The Whaling City Festival is back July 11-14. Here is what to expect.

NEW BEDFORD — The Whaling City Festival is back to kick off another season of celebrating New Bedford. From July 11-14, Buttonwood Park will transform its festival grounds to include carnival rides, food stands, games, a vendor market and activities for the whole family.

Established in 1970, the festival is a nonprofit organization that has continuously allowed the city to give back to those in the community that supports it. Funds are donated to local charities and high school scholarships, with an emphasis this year on creating a kid-friendly section, perfect for the younger generations.
