What is the #YahooAllyshipPledge?
This year, social movements have affected popular and corporate culture alike as underrepresented communities and their allies push for equality. We’ve learned that a systemic shift can only happen if we identify what needs to change and fully commit to do so.
At Yahoo and our parent brand Verizon Media, we have a responsibility to give back to our community and leverage our global platform for good. We have the ability to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities as they fight to change hearts and minds for a more socially just world. To move forward, we must move forward together.
Ally isn’t just a noun. It’s also a verb. It takes #AllyshipAnd action to create change, so share how you’re stepping forward on your own social channels. Jo Lambert, Head of Consumer, Verizon Media
That’s why today we’re launching the #YahooAllyshipPledge, a six-month program with Kindred, the network built to prepare business, nonprofit and cultural leaders for a more socially responsible future. Together, we’ve built an immersive education platform to help participants understand racial injustice in America and take the steps towards an equitable future.
Led by our partners at GOOD WORX, the Yahoo Allyship Pledge will connect a community of diverse creators, curated by Influential, with thought leaders, nonprofits and activists, including Dr. Cornel West, ACLU, Color of Change, Bozoma Saint John, Sonya Renee Taylor, and more, to better understand the complex topic of race, begin a journey towards effective allyship, and share their experience with the world.
On Yahoo, we'll be using our platform to educate, inform, and inspire action. You’re welcome to join the #YahooAllyshipPledge wherever you are on your own journey. We’ll keep sharing resources here and on our Yahoo Black Lives Matter hub.

I’m pledging #AllyshipAnd committing to amplify the voices and stories from underrepresented communities, and will establish a committee of Diversity Editorial Advisors to ensure we consistently publish content with a multicultural lens.
