Losing a loved one — like a parent — can be a gut-wrenching experience.
While everyone will most likely experience grief during their lifetime, it's still a topic that feels too taboo to talk about sometimes.
But just because it can be a tough subject to discuss doesn't mean it should *never* be talked about. So, to help others feel less alone and make grief a more comfortable subject to talk about, we want to know: What's the advice you wish you knew when you lost a parent?
For instance, when I lost my mom a few years ago, I wish someone would have told me that the smallest thing can trigger a grief response or how lonely grief can actually feel, especially when you experience it at a young age.
Or maybe you wish you knew what grief would even feel like in the first place — and how people have managed it during their time of grieving (since everyone experiences it so differently).
Finally, perhaps it's not the emotions after your loss that you wish you knew how to handle, but the type of grief you were going to experience while you were in the stage of losing a parent — when they were still alive but experiencing the final days of their life.
