Signature pies, New York style, are the specialty at Table Rock Pizzeria in Berlin.
Table Rock Pizzeria, 4799 E. Main St., Berlin, behind Main Street Fudge & Popcorn, specializes in New York-style, brick oven pizza along with salads, calzones and more. Dine in or order for carryout or delivery.
Tony Miller runs the store for his parents, Steve and Crystal Miller of Fredericksburg. They purchased Table Rock Pizzeria in 2022 from Brian and Amanda Miller, who opened the shop in September 2020.
Miller explained how his parents got involved in purchasing a pizzeria.
"We wanted to do something in the food industry," Miller said. "Eventually, pizza kind of stood out to us. My dad worked in remodeling and he's always been about customizing, doing something different or unique. When we saw this come up for sale in May of '22, we noticed it was something different. We took it on and have been running with it ever since."
Miller said the authentic New York style pizza features dough and sauce that is made in-house. It is thin crust, hand-stretched around the table, and everything is made-to-order as the orders come in.
Inspired by Goodfella's in Staten Island, New York
"We took the opportunity to go work with the guys from the original Goodfella's pizza on Staten Island, in New York," he said. "It's from them that we get the inspiration for a lot of the recipes we have here."
Everything is made in the brick oven, including the bone-in chicken wings that are roasted, adding to the flavor.
Table Rock offers a unique item in their garlic knots, which feature homemade dough tied in knots, almost like a pretzel, baked in the brick oven and covered with garlic butter and Pecorino Romano cheese, served with marinara for dipping.
Among the more popular pizza pies is the Old World Margherrita, made with fresh mozzarella and topped with plum tomato sauce, sliced Roma tomatoes, Pecorino Romano and fresh basil.
"That's definitely a crowd favorite," Miller said.
Table Rock offers a gluten free option with the signature pies or a build-your-own. It also offer Pepsi products from the fountain or by the bottle.
Table Rock Pizzeria is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday. It is closed Sunday-Tuesday. Order by phone at 330-449-9955 or online at tablerockpizza.com.
