'Wheel of Fortune' Makes Embarrassing Spelling Error Amid Teachers' Week

It looks like the minds behind Wheel of Fortune's Teachers' Week might be in need of a grammar lesson.

This week, the popular game show kicked off its annual celebration to honor our teachers, but fans couldn't help but notice an ironic spelling snafu in the show's graphics.

The graphics incorrectly read "Teacher's Week," indicating that the show is honoring just one teacher, whereas the apostrophe should've been placed after the "s" in "teachers" to signify that the specially-themed week includes many teachers, not just one.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a photo of the misspelling while quipping, "Is Wheel of Fortune celebrating one teacher or all teachers?"

"Shouldn’t it be Teachers’ Week, meaning all teachers?" someone else echoed.

"Yaaaas! That’s the first thing I noticed!," another user wrote, adding "Smh"

"teachers are also the contestants this week," someone else pointed out, seemingly highlighting the irony of the situation.

But looking past the cringey grammar mistake, WoF host Pat Sajak went on with the program as usual, except he was noticeably missing his sidekick and co-host, Vanna White.

As Parade reported, the longtime letter turner fell ill with COVID-19 at the time Teachers' Week was filmed back in July, marking her first time missing the show in 32 years.

White, 66, has only only been absent from the show four times during her entire 41-year run, including her brief leave leave following the death of her boyfriend in 1986. She also required a stand-in while going on her honey moon in 1991, and after she got sick later on that same year.

During this week's show, Sajak, 76, took the stage alone while explaining White's absence.

"I can't even find my mark without her," he joked, per TV Insider. The TV personality went on to introduce White's stand-in, a California-based Teacher of the Year recipient Bridgette Donald-Blue, who would be handling the "puzzle board duties" for the week.
