PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Outside of Portland’s permitted fireworks displays, there are still plenty of ways to spend the Fourth of July.

From silent discos to cookouts, here are your options for this Thursday.

Seasonal temps Tuesday, dangerous heat to come for the PNW

4th of July Parade

When: Thursday, July 4 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Where: Duniway Elementary School, 7700 SE Reed College Pl #5, Portland, OR 97202

The Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association’s annual Fourth of July parade will kick off and end at the Duniway Elementary School. Locals are welcome to join the festivities themselves, with children especially encouraged to decorate their bikes for the parade route.

Waterfront Blues Festival

When: Thursday, July 4 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland, OR 97204

The four-day Waterfront Blues Festival will kick off with 10 hours of performances on four different stages. Norman Sylvester, Portland’s “godfather of Jazz” Mel Brown and the TJ Wong Trio are among the acts for the first day.

Picnic In the Pearl

When: Thursday, July 4 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: NW Everett to NW Lovejoy on NW 13th Ave., Portland, OR 97209

This month, the Pearl District’s First Thursday celebration happens to fall on a holiday — hence why organizers have ramped up the event with new food and arts vendors. Visitors can also look forward to live music, games and activities.

Backyard Barbecue Cookout

When: Thursday, July 4 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Below By Botanist, 1300 NW Lovejoy St, Portland, OR 97209

Pearl District lounge Below By Botanist will host a holiday cookout complete with grilled specials from Hawaiian and Filipino restaurant Hapa Barkada. Manny Fresco, Sworth and Mighty Moves are among the DJ lineup.

Portland Craft Beer Festival

When: Thursday, July 4 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Elizabeth Caruthers Park, 3508 S Moody Ave, Portland, OR 97239

Portland’s Craft Beer Festival runs through the weekend, but Thursday is the only day when attendees of all ages are welcome. A $40 ticket includes a souvenir cup and 10 tasting tickets to try products from local brands ranging from Great Notion Brewing to Breakside Brewery.

Portland Pickles Independence Day Extravaganza and ‘Merica Night

When: Thursday, July 4 from 3:35 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. to 11:55 p.m.
Where: Lents Park, 4727 SE 92nd Ave #4601, Portland, OR 97266

Portland Pickles will face off against the Portland Rosebuds and Portland Gherkins in a double-header game day. The second game will close with a laser show, in lieu of fireworks due to the city’s ban.

La Terraza – A Latin Rooftop Party

When: Thursday, July 4 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Migration Brewing, 1750 SW Yamhill St, Portland, OR 97205

Migration Brewing is hosting a 21+ rooftop party at its Downtown Portland location. Outside of sets from four DJs, the celebration will include food from the kitchen of Latin nightclub Calle 6.

Heartbeat Silent Disco

When: Thursday, July 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Tilikum Crossing, Portland, OR 97201

All ages are invited to Heartbeat Silent Disco’s gathering along Tilikum Crossing. Event organizers will offer three channels of music, for those who are “bass-heavy beats, uplifting house music, or funky rhythms.”
