Where to celebrate the last week of Pride Month in the Lower Hudson Valley

The last week of June is here, which means LGBTQ+ Pride Month is officially coming to a close. Between festivals, bar crawls, dance parties and screenings, there's no shortage of ways to celebrate the last week of Pride.

Check out these local Pride events happening this week.

'Close to You' screening and conversation in Pleasantville

A special preview of the LGBTQ+-friendly film, "Close to You," will be showing at the Jacob Burns Film Center. Inspired by the story of writer and star of the film, Elliott Page, it follows the character, Sam, as he encounters an old friend after returning home for a family reunion. The event also include the opportunity for a post-screening conversation.

This event requires the purchase of tickets, which cost $15 for members of the Jacob Burns Film Center and $20 for non-members.

When: 7 p.m., Thursday, June 27.

Pride Mini Ball Volume II in Yonkers

Yonkers Pride and House of De La Blanca International have partnered to celebrate the legacy of the Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ dancers, performers and artists who've made New York City’s ballroom community what it is. This event includes a runway show, vogue and Afrofuturism performances and much more, with cash prizes for contestants.

This event requires the purchase of tickets, which cost $28.52 (plus Eventbrite fees) for general admission.

When: 7 to 11 p.m., Thursday, June 27.

Where: Grand Roosevelt Ballroom, 2 Hudson Street, Yonkers.

Dancing with Pride class in NYC

The Dyckman Farmhouse Museum in the city is celebrating Pride with a special dance class. It will be "a one-hour, high-spirited and rhythmic dancing class for all levels inspired predominantly by dance fitness and Latin genres," the event's webpage reads.

This event is free but requires tickets.

When: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, June 29.

Pride march and festival in Yorktown Heights

Join the organization Yorktown for Justice for its 4th annual Pride march and festival. This family-friendly event will include activities like local performers, story time and "eclectic vendors," according to the event's webpage. The march is set to step off at 1 p.m., where attendees will "proudly walk through the center of town, moving as one and showcasing our commitment to equality," the webpage reads.

When: 12 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 29. Parade begins at 1 p.m.

Where: Railroad Park, 1826 Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights.

Family Pride in the Park in Peekskill

Peekskill Pride's 4th annual Family Pride in the Park is scheduled for Saturday. The rain-or-shine event has tons of activities planned, from dancing to crafts to a pet photo contest, drag performances and rainbow goats. The event stars the locally-based drag performer and live singer, Evita Loca.

When: 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 29.

Where: Pugsley Park, 1036 Main Street, Peekskill.

Funny Lines: LGBTQ Edition comedy show in Harlem

This LGBTQ+ event "full of hilarious comedians with an artistic flair," according to the event's webpage. Scheduled performers include Liz Glazer, Jae Shin, Whitney Chanel and more.

This event requires the purchase of tickets, which cost $23.17 per general admission ticket (plus Eventbrite fees), or $13.57 per person (plus Eventbrite fees) for a 2-for-1 admission ticket.

When: Doors open at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 29. Show begins at 5 p.m.

Pride Bar Crawl in Nyack

Enjoy costumes, community, live entertainment and specialty Pride-themed cocktails at this celebration bar crawl happening in Nyack. "This isn't your average bar crawl," the event page reads. "It's an expression of inclusivity and acceptance."

This event requires the purchase of tickets, which range in cost from free to $24.01 (plus Eventbrite fees) depending on date and time of purchase.

Celebrate love and unity with Up The Hudson Events and Osley Thomlinson for a cocktail party followed by dancing. This event includes passed hors d'oeuvres from chef Eric Korn and performance by Donnan Sutherland during cocktail hour, with music by DJ Jimmy Prada for the dance party that follows.

This event requires the purchase of tickets, which cost $81.88 (plus Eventbrite fees) for both the cocktail hour and dance party or $23.18 (plus Eventbrite fees) for just the dance party.
