Where—and What—Celine Dion Ate During Her Recent Trip to Boston

Nothing can stop Canadian superstar Celine Dion from enjoying her life. Even amidst the unfortunate reality of being diagnosed with a rare and incurable neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome, the 55-year-old “Queen of Power Ballads” still has a lot to live for.
Whether she’s sharing pictures of her children to social media or cracking jokes in the Edmonton Oilers' locker room, the mother of three has been quite busy lately. The iconic vocalist shocked fans when she stepped out on stage at the Grammys to present the Album of the Year award, and was later caught backstage taking photos with another vocal powerhouse, Taylor Swift.
And, according to People, she's also enjoying dinners out with her family and friends. This past Monday, Dion was seen enjoying a nice Italian dinner with her twin sons in Boston, along with a few other friends. The group reportedly showed up unannounced at Scampo, a traditional Italian fare restaurant located in the Liberty Hotel in Boston’s beautiful and historic Beacon Hill neighborhood. The party reportedly took up three tables and had a meal specially prepared by Scampo’s chef and owner, Lydia Shire, who is also a friend of the award-winning artist.
Dion’s order consisted of a side of white asparagus soup with truffled beet gnocchi and toasted hazelnut butter. Along with her delicious-sounding soup, Dion ordered a chili crisp chicken breast paired with Okinawan yam and a Korean scallion pancake.

According to a manager on duty during the star's visit, the entire staff was in total awe of Dion and the star even took the time to pose for photos with fans. “Everyone said she looked like a million bucks,” the manager noted to PEOPLE.
Dion and Shire’s relationship originally strengthened years ago, while Dion’s late husband René Angélil was in Boston receiving medical treatment. The two would frequent Shire’s restaurants and quickly became familiar with her excellent cuisine.
“When her husband was very sick, Lydia cooked for them, and they ended up staying in town longer than planned,” the manager of Scampo recalled. “Celine fell in love with Lydia then.”
As fans of Dion and her music, it warms our hearts to see the Grammy winner out and about with the people she loves.
