Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford
It's been just about five years since Kathie Lee Gifford left the TODAY, show, but her old friends at NBC still love and miss her.
Hoda Kotb, who hosted Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda alongside Gifford for over a decade, recently spoke about her former co-host, giving fans an update on where the two women stand today.
During the Wednesday, Jan. 10 episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kotb, 59, sang her old pal's praises while sharing a new song written by Gifford, before offering some info on what her former colleague has been up to lately.
"By the way, Kat's living her best life," Kotb told the audience, per Page Six. "She's in Nashville. She's writing music. She is living her best life."
"She's playing with the cutest grandkids, putting out good music, so Kat, love you," Kotb further gushed.
Gifford—who hosted the fourth hour of the NBC talk show with Kotb from 2008 to 2019—might not be on TV screens every day anymore, but fans have still been able to keep up with her life on social media in recent years.
The singer-songwriter, 70, notably spends tons of time with her young grandchildren, now that her kids Cody, 33, and Cassidy, 30, have babies of their own.
Gifford—better known as "Bubbie" to her grandkids—recently became a grandmother of three after Cody and his wife Erika announced the arrival of their second child, a son named Ford Matthew Gifford, in November 2023. The pair also share firstborn son Frankie, who was born in May 2022.
In June 2023, Gifford's daughter Cassidy welcomed a son of her own, Finn Thomas Weirda, whom she shares with husband Ben Weirda.
