Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks on the Hudson River

You won't want to miss the the 48th Annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks. While this event is technically in New York City, the Macy's July 4th fireworks will take place on the Hudson River for the first time since 2013, meaning New Jersey residents can view them from places like Hoboken, Jersey City and Weehawken. The show begins at 8 p.m. You can watch from a number of waterfront parks, take a cruise or make a reservation at one of these 8 waterfront restaurants to enjoy dinner with the show.

Paramus always puts on a good show and we expect that to continue this year. The town will be hosting its annual Independence Day fireworks show on July 7. Prior to the fireworks show, there will be a variety of live entertainment, hosted by Raphael Valentino, iHeart Radio & 103.5 KTU. Clifton Independence Day Celebration, July 6

The event begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6 (raindate Sunday, July 7th) at Clifton Stadium - 350 Piaget Ave., with a family festival that includes food vendors, youth activities, carnival games, rides, clowns, DJ and more. At 6:30 p.m. firework ticket holders can enter the stadium for pre-firework entertainment followed by the fireworks. Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase at City Hall -900 Clifton Ave at the Clerk or Recreation Offices during business hours. At Exchange Place Path Plaza, there will be a variety of activities on July 4th, include the Jersey City Night Market, carnival rides, games, live music and food vendors. Then, enjoy the annual Macy's July 4th fireworks on the Hudson River. Hours: Noon to 10 p.m. Go: 68 Christopher Columbus Drive, Jersey City.

State Fair Meadowlands, East Rutherford, July 3 and 4

State Fair Meadowlands will celebrate with fireworks by Garden State Fireworks, a family-owned provider of award-winning pyrotechnics that has produced shows for Presidential Inaugurations, Super Bowls and the Olympics. The musically choreographed displays, set to patriotic and popular tunes, will begin at 11 p.m. each night. There will be dazzling shapes, including an American Flag, and a grande finale. Ridgewood 114th Annual Fourth of July Celebration, July 4

Often voted the Best Special Town Event in (201) Magazine's annual readers' survey, Best of Bergen, this all-day event on July 4th features a flag raising at Wilsey Square followed by a parade starting at Monroe Street and Godwin Avenue. Then, there will be evening entertainment, food trucks and a beer garden at Veterans Field, followed by the National Anthem and a fireworks show. Hours: Flag raising begins at 9 a.m.; parade begins at 10 a.m.; evening entertainment begins at 6 p.m.; and the National Anthem and fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Go: Veterans Field, 156-158 Northern Parkway, Ridgewood.

Bergen County's Star-Spangled Spectacular, July 4

Bergen County's Star-Spangled Spectacular will take place on July 4 at Overpeck County Park. This Independence Day celebration will feature music from the New Jersey Wind Symphony; other live entertainment including the New Jersey Youth Jazz Orchestra, Reggie Pittman Band, Jake Thistle, Leslie Mendelson; children's activities; food trucks; a beer and wine garden; and fireworks at Overpeck Creek. Hours: Starts at 3 p.m. Go: The Amphitheater at Overpeck County Park, Challenger Road, Ridgefield Park. Parking is available in the Ridgefield Park and Henry Hoebel sections of the park, as well as the Glenpointe Alfred Sanzari Building parking garage in Teaneck and the KABR Group parking lots on Challenger Road in Ridgefield Park, with complimentary shuttle transportation.
